With over 2000 spine procedures, Dr. Tanmay Avhad specialises in uniportal full endoscopic spine surgery, image-guided spine pain procedures and minimally invasive spine care. A Gold Medalist in MS Orthopaedics from TNMC & Nair Hospital, Mumbai, he completed advanced fellowship training in Minimally Invasive and Endoscopic Spine Surgery and holds MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He treats both common and complex spine conditions with a focus on precision and faster recovery.

Dr. Tanmay Avhad completed his MBBS from Topiwala National Medical College (TNMC) & B.Y.L. Nair Charitable Hospital, Mumbai. He then did his MS in Orthopaedics from the same institute and was awarded the Gold Medal in the MS Orthopaedics final exams by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in 2023. He was also named “Best Resident” in the Orthopaedics Department that year. He went on to clear the DNB (Orthopaedics) and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MRCS).
With a strong interest in spine surgery, he completed a two year Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Full Endoscopic Spine Surgery (FMISS, FESS) at Indore Spine Center & Endospine360 under Dr. Prasad Patgaonkar. He has also trained in cadaveric Workshops in Transforaminal and Interlaminar Uniportal Full Endoscopy, cervical spine surgery and Endoscopic fusion.
Dr. Tanmay has over 15 publications in peer-reviewed journals, including the Asian Spine Journal and the Journal of Orthopaedic Case Reports. He has presented his work at national and international spine meetings and won 1st place for Best Paper at MISSABCON 2026 and 3rd place for Best Paper at SMISS 2026, Singapore.
Today, he practises under the name SpineArc in Mumbai, with over 2000 spine procedures to his credit. His focus is on finding the real source of pain and choosing the right treatment for each patient, from image-guided pain procedures to uniportal full endoscopic spine surgery through an 8mm incision.
Dr. Tanmay’s research and publications reflect his commitment to better spine care through clinical work, new surgical techniques and contributions to peer-reviewed journals.
